Inviting Nature In

  • WIld Cascara 33472 Southeast Wildcat Mountain Drive Eagle Creek, OR, 97022 United States (map)

There are many approaches to recovery from dependency. Being outside with purpose is a powerful tool to add to any version of this self-help process. In the modern age, we have lost what it means to be connected to the Earth, ourselves, and our communities which has led to widespread behavioral and substance addiction. What if we were to invite the higher power of nature into our lives?

In this gathering, individuals will participate in a day full of intention, and return home with new nature-based tools to aid in recovery. We will be learning and circling-up in a ritual of meaningful listening and sharing called council as well as the self-directed act of the medicine walk, where one walks with nature in a thoughtful and observant way.

Inviting Nature In is intended for 10-15 people who are working through addiction and are a part of support programs such as AA, Refuge Recovery, SMART Recovery, etc. The participant may feel a curiosity about or a connection to nature and are seeking to experience the outdoors as an assist to dive deeper into their recovery process.
